Meet Dr. Susie S. Hayden
Dr. Susie received her undergraduate degree from Texas Lutheran College in 1987. She attended UTHSC San Antonio, graduated in 1992 and received her pediatric certification in 2000
She is married to Dr. Bill Cruse, and they are blessed with two wonderful children. While Dr. Susie's husband, Bill was in the United States Army serving as a dentist, they had the opportunity to travel to Europe. While in Europe Dr. Susie worked as a civilian dentist and soon was recognized by her peers as the "children's dentist." It was then that she knew that she was called to work with children. After her husband's separation from the military, they returned to San Antonio and she entered the Pediatric Program at UTHSC in 1998. In July of 2000, Dr. Susie opened Stone Oak Pediatric Dentistry where she continues to care for children as if they were her own. Her husband, Dr. Bill Cruse, practices general dentistry at his office located in the Sonterra Oaks Medical Plaza.
Dr. Susie is a member of the American Dental Association, American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, Texas Dental Association, Texas Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and San Antonio Pediatric Dental Society, and is Diplomat, American Board of Pediatric Dentistry.
Meet Dr. Courtney L. Alexander
Dr. Courtney received her undergraduate degree from Sam Houston State University in 2001. She received her DDS from UTHSC San Antonio graduating Magna Cum Laude in 2005 with honors in research. She joined Stone Oak Pediatric Dentistry in 2005. She returned to UTHSC San Antonio from 2007 to 2009 to complete her Pediatric Residency. She founded Dominion Pediatric Dentistry with Dr. Susie in 2009 and in 2010 became a partner in Stone Oak Pediatric Dentistry.
She currently serves on the Healthy Smiles, Healthy Children national board of directors and is also active on the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry’s New Dentist Committee. She has previously served on the Texas Dental Association Committee on the New Dentist, the San Antonio District Dental Society Board of Directors, and the SADDS Committee on the New Dentist.
Dr. Courtney was selected from across the nation as the 2008 Samuel Harris Fellow. This fellowship is sponsored by Healthy Smiles, Healthy Children the Foundation of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. In 2008, she was the recipient of the Texas Dental Association New Dentist of the Year Leadership Award.
Dr. Courtney is a member of the American Dental Association, American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, Texas Dental Association, Texas Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, San Antonio District Dental Society and the San Antonio Academy of Pediatric Dentistry.
Dr. Courtney grew up in Copperas Cove, Texas. After marrying her high school sweetheart and best friend, Rick, they made their home in San Antonio. They are the proud parents of two children, Londyn and Hudson. In her spare time, Dr. Courtney loves reading, traveling, spending time with her family, attending church and watching movies.
Meet Dr. Renee Mikulec
Dr. Renee earned her Bachelor's of Science degree in Dental Hygiene at Texas Women's University, and her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at UTHSC San Antonio; graduating both with honors. She received a Master's of Science degree while completing her pediatric dentistry residency program at the Ohio State University and Nationwide Children's Hospital. During her residency, she held the prestigious role as Chief Resident in 2006-2007 and was presented the Service from the Heart Award for outstanding patient care. Dr. Renee was inducted as a member of the College of Diplomates of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry in 2008.
A native to Texas, Dr. Renee was born in San Antonio, TX, lived in Schertz for most of her elementary school years, then spent her remaining childhood and college years in Dallas. She returned to San Antonio for dental school and met her husband, Shane. Due to Shane’s Air Force career, Dr. Renee was grateful to experience other areas of the U.S. but is happy to be back in her home state. Together, Shane and Dr. Renee have been blessed with four beautiful children, Chris, Antonia, Calista, and Cody.
Dr. Renee is excited to be able to work with children every day. Her special interests are in working with first time dental patients and patients with special needs. She is honored to participate in fundraisers and healthcare fairs for local schools and special interest groups, including Autism Society, American Heart Association, and the National Down Syndrome Society.
She is a member of the American Dental Association, American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, Texas Dental Association, Texas Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, San Antonio District Dental Society and the San Antonio Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (Past President 2011-2012). In her free time she enjoys cycling, hiking, traveling, and spending time with her family.
